Chad Hennings

One of the best things about hosting an interview-style podcast is getting to connect with so many seasoned and accomplished men. This episode is no exception.

My guest today is Chad Hennings. He won three Super Bowls during his nine seasons playing for the Dallas Cowboys. Before his career in the NFL, Chad was a fighter pilot with the United States Air Force, where he logged 45 successful combat missions in the cockpit of the legendary A-10 Warthog. But he'll be the first to tell you that those job titles and those accomplishments do not define him. Chad finds his identity in Christ, and he's most proud of his achievements as a husband, father, and as a child of God.

But Hennings' journey from the cockpit of an Air Force fighter jet, to the gridiron of the National Football League, has provided Chad opportunities that most men never experience. His journey has taught him life lessons in leadership, self-discipline, preparation, and the importance of brotherhood when it comes to men's faith. To further this cause, he founded Wingmen, a men’s ministry focused on bringing men together in Christ through events, small groups, and one-on-one discipleship.

Chad also sits on the board of directors for Promise Keepers. He touches on the mission of Promise Keepers, their long-term plans, as well as their upcoming virtual event, July 31–Aug 1, 2020 (click here to register).

Some key topics include:

  • Hear what it's like to fly the A-10

  • What it was like preparing for war

  • The transition from military life to the NFL

  • The importance of preparedness when it comes to life's opportunities

  • The importance of sports in developing character traits in young men

  • How men can apply the disciplines of game planning to planning for the battles of life

  • How Chad's faith grew through the illness of his son

  • Why men need healthy outlets in life

  • Why vulnerable relationships are essential to a healthy life

And you'll want to stick around for a special message from Chad at the end of this episode.
